Thanksgiving Recap.

I made Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes for the Severson Thanksgiving. It was nice to spend Thanksgiving with multiple generations of a large family. One of the cousins is named Ava. So that was confusing. But we managed. Song's Turkey was delicious as usual. There were lots' of deserts so I was able to save 5 cupcakes for my mom.

Today I had breakfast with Gina and Dave and got to see their boys. Then I came home. I plan on sleeping for a week. And eating turkey sandwiches.

I've always been curious about Irish Car Bomb cupcakes. What did they taste like? Mainly chocolate?
Yes. They are pretty much chocolate cupcakes with ganache centers and buttercream icing. The Baileys that Song bought was coffee flavored so that was an added touch this time.

The Guinness goes well with chocolate.

You could just make a Guinness chocolate cake and fill it with ganache and cover it with buttercream icing. It would be less work but not as fun.

I use the centers of the cupcakes to make cake-pops. I mix the centers with the left over ganache and ice them with the left over icing.
Thanks. I was wondering how the Guinness would affect the taste. I'm not a fan of beer and ale as drinks, but they're generally okay as ingredients in cooking.
I don't generally drink any beer. I just don't like the bitterness of hops. But I have worked out some good beer bread and beer cookie recipes. And there is always beer and cheese soup, Welsh Rabbit, and beer braised beef. Those are delicious.
