I'm Home.

I went down to Binghamton to fill Song's shoes with nuts and oranges.

They totally forgot it was Saint Nicolas's Day.

I also cooked the Turkey the Severson's gave me. I rubbed most of it with my Yankee Dry Rub, and made a Turchetta from the breasts. Song took pictures for me.

I should have taken pictures of the shoes full of nuts, but I didn't think of it until too late.

I finally made my rag doll pattern. Now I need to make a doll and see how the pattern works.

I'm feeling productive.

I always forget.

St. Nicholas' Day was not something celebrated when I was growing up.

Re: I always forget.

I've never heard of St. Nicholas' Day before either.

Re: I always forget.

Well, you have a better excuse. I didn't fill your shoes with nuts and candy last year, like I did to Song's family after spending the evening berating them for not having proper wooden shoes for Saint Nicolas to fill.

This year I didn't warn them. And they weren't even suspicious.

Re: I always forget.

Nope, not even a little. And when I saw the shoe rack filled with shoes filled with nuts and oranges I said "Huh, Zahde strikes again." Then I informed her that I was digging nuts out of my shoes for DAYS afterward. She laughed. She laughed a lot while I toted shoes and boots back and forth, emptying them into a basket. It took a while.

And sure enough, this morning when I put on my sneakers I found three more candy canes.
