Chicken Pot Pie

A while ago I bought some square "pot pie" noodles. My dad always made pie crust for his stove top chicken pot pie (popeye?). So I wanted to make chicken pot pie with these noodles.

Last night I boiled the chicken. Then I took the meat off the bones and put the bones back in the pot. I let the bones simmer overnight. When I strained them out this morning they were so soft they crumbled. I added some celery, carrots, and onion to the broth and let them simmer.

Marilyn came by this afternoon. I waited until we were ready to eat before I added the dried noodles and the chicken. It was OK. But I prefer the pie crust noodles.

Marilyn wants me to make the fluffy biscuit dumplings next time. It will probably be awhile before I make chicken soup again. But I'm happy to make fluffy biscuits.

I also made some mint chocolate fudge. Unfortunately the chocolate seized. I'm not sure why. It still tastes good. It just has a strange texture.

A little bit of water can cause chocolate to seize. We were recently watching the "Good Eats" episodes on chocolate.
Yes. I think I learned that from him
I am very careful

That shouldn't be a problem for this fudge recipe, though. I mix a can of sweetened condensed milk in with the chocolate before I heated it. This usually works. I may have used too much chocolate and not enough SCM.

For some reason the oil separated out of the chocolate.
