Annual Eye Exam

It turns out that I need to take my anti-anxiety medication for my annual eye exam. Apparently my doctor has changed the eye drops they use for dilating my eyes. It really stung this year. It hasn't in the past. And the dilation drops made my eyes hurt. That hasn't happened before either.

Also Medicaid and Medicare aren't paying for vision tests anymore. That is the test to see what lenses you need. It cost $30 and it isn't covered. I'm not sure they pay for glasses anymore since I haven't been able to find a eye glass store that takes Medicaid and Medicare. They will pay for the Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma tests.

It turns out I have a problem with the glaucoma test machine. My chest gets in the way. I was holding my breath to cosy up to the machine. But holding your breath increases the fluid pressure in your eyeballs, which is what the glaucoma test measures. So they have to do the test with a hand held pen.

The whole ordeal took almost two hours. And when it was over I went home and slept for six hours.
