Call no man happy until he is dead.

The problem with life is that you never know what will happen next.

I spent a lot of time worrying about the future. People tell you to plan, and make good decision in preparation for the future. But you never know what will happen. My worrying mostly made me depressed. It didn't help me make better decisions.

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
Gang aft agley,
An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me
The present only toucheth thee:
But, Och! I backward cast my e'e.
On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see,
I guess an' fear!

To A Mouse, On Turning Her Up In Her Nest With The Plough
by Robert Burns

I did not do well in the planning or preparing for my future. But I'm Okay anyway for reasons that have nothing to do with my own efforts. Okay for now, at least. Who knows what will happen tomorrow. I've been lucky so far. And blessed.
