Mixed Bag

Friday I had my monthly visit from the Depression Fairy. It was particularly bad this month. I decided to clean out my Yahoo friends list.

And take up Netflix on their free promotional offer. I spent most of the evening rating movies. I still don't have my DVD player or TV set up. I have 171 movies in my Queue 1 The Golden Compass, 2 Stardust, 3 MirrorMask, 4 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 5 Dexter: Season 1: Disc 1. It turns out I can't use their "Watch it now" feature because I have a Mac. "The Golden Compass" should be here Tuesday. Now I just need someone to watch movies with me.

Saturday I went to a baby shower for a friend. I just want to record that this is one of those unusual baby arrangements. The baby's biological mother is lesbian friend of theirs. The biological mother and her wife have been staying with my friend and her husband for a transition period, and to breast feed the baby. Everything seems to be going smoothly. A lot of friends seem to be settling down and having children.

I went down with Queenie and Wolf. It was nice to to spend time with my Goddess children as well. On the way back we listened to their iPod. I got to choose songs. It was lots of fun.

I started cataloging my books again. I'm working on the kitchen library now, cookbooks.

mirrormask was really cool & surreal....
worth the time spent on it most definately
we were bummed to go to the shower:(
I'm sorry you've been hit by the Depression Fairy. ::hugs::

Lately I seem to be filled with all kinds of frustration, sublimated anger, poor sleep, bad eating habits, even more impulse purchases at the bookstore than usual, and general crankiness. I simultanesously want to strangle a number of people and work and go to sleep for a long, long, long time. Grr. I'm getting on my own nerves. Thank goodness for my evil little cat, who makes me laugh.

Oooh, when you're done, I need to see your cookbook list!

Depression and Books

My depression is definitely PMS related. I can predict it to the day in advance.

I'm entering my books in LibraryThing.com. There is a link to My LibraryThing on my LiveJournal. You can search my library.

I've entered 2/3 of the Kitchen books already! Whoo Hoo!

Netflix

My friends and I have started watching Dexter. I really like it. It's a little odd, since I first saw the actor who plays Dexter in Six Feet Under, where he played a completely different character.

I didn't care as much for the Hitchhiker's movie as I do for the BBC series (which I own).

By the way, have you ever watched 10th Kingdom?

Re: Netflix

I have probably seen the first disc of Dexter. Since I started watching it on TV. I loved the actor when he was in Six Feet Under. But it was not much of conflict for me since he was such a different character in that.

I had heard that the Hitchhiker movie sucked but I loved the radio show when I was in high school so I just want to see it. I remember seeing at least some of the BBC TV show. It was not as good as the radio show.

I thought I saw the 10th Kingdom. Did involve a wolf who looked like a man? or am I confusing it with some other similar movie?
Netflix is awesome. :)
I just set that up through blockbuster, mainly so I can get ahold of more bollywood movies but also to see the out of the way or indie films that I can't find in the stores.

And I LOVE Stardust and Golden Compass, both are awesome.
