Vote No on Prop 8, If you live in CA

Not that I live in CA.

And I just found out Arizona has an anti Gay marriage Prop too. So, if you live in AZ vote no on Prop 102.

CA has a lot of Props:

Proposition 1A: Safe, Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act. Money for Trains, sounds good. I would vote yes.

Proposition 2: Standards for Confining Farm Animals. Animal rights, I heard about it on Air America. I would vote yes.

Proposition 3: Children’s Hospital Bond Act. Grant Program. Money for Children's hospitals I'd vote yes.

Proposition 4: Waiting Period and Parental Notification Before Termination of Minor’s Pregnancy. Oh, Parental Notification bad! Why haven't I heard more about this? I'd vote no.

Proposition 5: Nonviolent Drug Offenses. Sentencing, Parole and Rehabilitation. More drug treatment programs for nonviolent drug offenders. I'd vote yes.

Proposition 6: Police and Law Enforcement Funding. Criminal Penalties and Laws.M I need to research this one more.

Proposition 7: Renewable Energy Generation. We need this. I'd vote yes.

Proposition 8: Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry. NO on Prop 8!

Proposition 9: Criminal Justice System. Victims’ Rights. Parole. Tough one. Increase Vitims's rights. Decrease criminals' oportunities for parole. Well I'm for Truth in sentancing so yes on this one.

Proposition 10: Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy. Another good idea, yes.

Proposition 11: Redistricting. Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute. Sounds good But I would look into it before decideing.

Proposition 12: Veterans’ Bond Act of 2008. Do you support veterans or don't you? I think the Fed has really fallen down on veterans' benefits. So yes to this. Hey it might help with the housing market.

vote yes on prop 8

Defining marriage as between one man and one woman is not taking away anyone's rights. The definition simply distinguishes a union that is biologically capable of producing its own children. Whether a married couple has children or not, I feel like this deserves a separate name--even the potential is kind of a miracle.

Actually this definition can be seen as the ultimate expression of equality our society has to offer: it takes one man and one woman. One could see a lesbian union as a marginalization of men, or a homosexual union as a marginalization of women.

Equality is especially important when it comes to raising children. Children deserve/need a father and a mother. Neither parent should be marginalized.

Yes, many children are already growing up in single-parent homes. Prop 8 should be a reminder to everyone that as a society we need to assist and strengthen families as much as possible. Really, as a society we should be most concerned with the success and health of our families.

peace out

Re: vote no on prop 8

I totally agree that we need to assist and strengthen families as much as possible and protect children. Since same sex couples often raise children together giving these families the protection of mariage strengthens and assists these families and protects these children.

No on Prop 8
