Torchwood Season 2

I just watched 5 episodes of Torchwood. I'm willing to argue that you can never watch too much Torchwood.

I have sometimes felt that fightscenes in movies and on TV were a bit homoerotic. The wonderful thing about Torchwood is that the homoeroticism is right out there in the open. Capt Jack has a shouting match with Rhys in "Meat" and ends it by saying "this is homoerotic".

The kiss between Capt Jack and Capt John was as good as I hoped (John Barrowman is tall!). It is hot. Why does James Marsters always get the violent sex scenes? His sex scenes with Buffy were mostly fights.

The Jack/Ianto kiss is pretty hot too.

Capt Jack had one of the most bawdy lines in "Meat". Gwen asks him if he has ever eaten alien meat and he says "yes". So she asks him how it was and he says "He seemed to like it". I was shocked! Shocked I tell you!

They do have some of the boldest kiss scenes I've ever seen aired on public television, but at least the scenes are also well-done. I'm not sure how much of that is due to the edgy tone of the show and how much is due to relaxed cultural feelings across the pond on the idea of same-sex relationships.

It helps that John Barrowman in real life appears to be pretty much as confident as the character he plays: he's on record stating that he'll get out the package (he was a bit more explicit in how he phrased it during the Torchwood behind-the-scenes that I saw this on) if they pay him enough, and IIRC it was said quite matter-of-factly.
I think the great gay kissing is due to the gay actor and producer.

John Barrowmen seems like the life of the party from what I have seen of the behind the scenes stuff.

I am so sorry about Kip, hon!! You did the right thing, and though its a very small thing, I was very proud of you!!
