Dinner and a Movie: Welsh Rabbit and Lord Peter Wimsey

We did have the Welsh Rabbit for dinner. (I'm trying to break myself of the habit of calling it "rarebit".) Irish Dubliner cheese, Guinness, and organic whole wheat bread. I mentioned that it was a hearty peasant meal. The Welsh would have made all the ingredients at home. And B replied that for what he paid for it we could have had actual rabbit. It's like how City Chicken used to be made of pork because pork was cheaper than chicken.

After dinner we watched "The Nine Tailors" a Dorothy Sayers mystery starring Ian Carmichael. I had not seen this one before. I liked it. But I like mysteries.

Oh I do love Welsh rabbit It's yummy :) City chicken, not so much
Are you a vegetarian?
When did you have a chance to eat real City Chicken?
No, I'm not veggie. But I like Welsh rabbit. It's so simple and tasty

City chicken - not under that name, of course - is found hereabouts since quite a long time. I've had it since I was a kid. Not bad, but doesn't compare to cheese food
