"Haven"

hulu pointed me toward a new SYFY TV show. Another Supernatural Crime Drama, very loosely based on the Stephen King novel "The Colorado Kid". ("The Colorado Kid" was not a supernatural story.) An FBI agent is sent to a small town in Maine and notices strange things, including links to her lost family. She works with a Sheriff's deputy who has Idiopathic neuropathy (that is what he says, not CIPA), he can't feel pain. The town originally had an Indian name that meant "Haven for God's Orphans". So I'm guessing it's full of people with supernatural powers... committing crimes.

I watched it, too. Very well written, I thought - kind of close to "Eureka" without quite being a clone of it.
I can see that.

The same could be said of "The Gates"

"Haven" reminded me more of "X-Files" since it is a believing FBI agent with a skeptical partner. Although that also reminds me of "Fringe".

I worry that it will be hard to keep coming up with plots in a small town in Maine. Sort of like "Murder, She Wrote", you can't just keep killing people in a small town without people noticing.

I like "Eureka" because it is leavened with humor. I like most of my TV leavened with humor. If a show is too dark I just can't watch it. I am watching the new season of "Eureka" on HULU.
