Are You Smarter Than A High School Student?

On Season 2, episode 3 of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution he gave a quick quiz to a bunch of high school students. These were teenagers at a respected charter school with a good reputation. The amazing thing is that some of the students actually got some of these questions wrong.

I'm not really surprised that my friends know the answers.
I wonder if some of the high school students answered questions wrong on purpose.
That is always a possibility. But there is no way to know.

If you start out believing that people are not answering truthfully then if you ask them if they are joking they could either lie and say they were to avoid looking stupid, or lie and say they weren't to keep the joke going.
I think some of these kids work in my local Price Chopper. You can always tell which ones were raised by real parents, because they pass the jicama test. "Oh, jicama?" rather than "Excuse me, what IS that?"
Jicama I can understand. I have never cooked with jicama. It's the ones who can' tell a garlic bulb from an onion that worry me.
