Excited

DJ of the Year 2011

I went to a "Guys and Dolls" dance party on Saturday. They had a competition where you were supposed to submit a 15-20 minute playlist and the playlist that got the most people on the dance floor would win. Since I don't go dancing often and have a limited music collection I didn't think I would win. I focused on music that I enjoyed, had a good beat, and people would not be familiar with. I was quite surprised when I won.

This was my winning playlist:
Interlude: Pledge, 0:48, Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
Venus, 3:41, Bananarama, The Very Best of Bananarama
Telephone Man, 1:58, Meri Wilson, Dementia 2000!: Dr. Demento's 30th Anniversary Collection [Disc 2]
Interlude: No Acid, 0:05, Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
Cup of Brown Joy, 2:38, Professor Elemental, The Indifference Engine
Ganesh is Fresh (feat. Jai Uttal), 3:45, MC Yogi, Elephant Power
Interlude: Let's Dance, 0:04, Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
Chick Habit, 2:02, April March, Paris In April
Ca Plane Pour Moi, 3:00, Plastic Bertrand
Woo Hoo, 2:02, The 5, 6, 7, 8's, Bomb the Twist

Bananarama's Venus got the most people on the dance floor. But I kept people dancing.

Dahling, yours was the ONLY playlist that was played in its entirety. Mine was cut off TWICE.
That is odd. The whole playlist competition was not run very well. I noticed that there was no one in charge of the music. When a song stopped no one seemed to know what would happen next.
