Weather report and Lunch at the Ithaca Beer company taproom.

Warm and muggy today. Last night there was a torrential downpour. I wasn't bothered by it but people to the south had to be evacuated in the middle of the night. Someone in Ithaca posted pictures of the Hangar Theatre parking lot flooded.

B took me out to lunch at the Ithaca Brewery Taproom today. B ordered the Cheddar ale soup and grilled cheese sandwich and the french fry "flight" which is a "Hand-cut fries served with three sauces: Taproom ketchup, chipotle aioli, and balsamic-caramelized onion mayo." Next time he does that I think I will skip the fries in my order.

I had the pulled pork sandwich: "Autumn’s Harvest pork slow roasted, pulled and finished in our dynamic Nut Brown Ale BBQ sauce. Served on an Ithaca Bakery roll and topped with creamy mustard slaw." It was very smoky tasting but needed something. Perhaps more slaw or some of that balsamic-caramelized onion mayo. It was juicy enough but needed more creaminess.

I had the brownie sundae for dessert. The ice cream was fine but the brownie was more cake-like than I prefer.

We both had lemon teas but we didn't know the refills were not free.

The Ithaca Beer Company Taproom has very good food. It's all local artisan food. But it's a bit loud inside which makes conversation difficult. On a nice day it might be good to sit outside. I could see that the hops were growing well around the patio seating but since it was raining we sat indoors.
