T.G.I. Friday's but still feeling tired.

It's a good thing I have the time to rest because I'm using it. I've been sleeping a lot, between eating out with friends.

B drove us to Elmira to try T.G.I. Friday's Pretzel sticks. They were not as good as the Pretzel sticks at Applebee's. Friday's Pretzel sticks are bread sticks rolled in salt and drenched in garlic butter. Their cheese dip was not as good either. Applebee's cheese dip is very cheesy and they include a mustard dip as well. Friday's cheese dip is bland and not very cheesy. B thought it was a bit bitter as well.

On the other hand the rest of the meal was good. I had the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The lime ginger coleslaw is very distinctive and has a pleasant ginger burn. I also enjoyed the Guinness Stout Shake for desert (one of the advantages of not driving), I could taste the beer but it wasn't bitter.

B had the multi-grain angel hair pasta tossed in a light lemon-wine cream sauce with a sauté of cremini mushrooms, balsamic onions, red peppers, capers and fresh spinach. He said it had an unexpected and unusual flavor. He also ordered Tennessee Whiskey Cake: A warm toffee cake topped with glazed pecans and vanilla ice cream. Served with butterscotch Jack Daniel's® Whiskey sauce. He let me take a taste. It was yummy.

T.G.I. Friday's is more expensive than Chili's or Applebee's and the portions are smaller, but the flavors seem more unusual.

There was a model of the Millennium Falcon hanging over our table. :)

I love the pretzel sticks! If you are looking for a non-bitter stout, check out Heresy by Weyerbacher Brewery or Innis & Gunn's oak aged stout. The Millenium Falcon models are no longer accurate. In "A New Hope" the Falcon was a matte painting and only had three landing gear. In "The Empire Strikes Back", a full scale version was built. They found they needed two extra landing gear to support the weight.
