reject reality

What would I do if money was no object?

I would buy a big plot of land, preferably a camp site and set up my Wiccan Temple site, The Finger Lakes Temple of the Earth.

I would hire a grounds keeper, maintenance person, and housekeeper.

The grounds keeper would have to be familiar with organic gardening, permaculture, and maintaining native habitats.

The maintenance person should have general skills in carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical work and be interested in green architecture. (If they liked to build elf houses like Rivendell that would be cool too.)

The housekeeper is to make sure the place is presentable. I'm sure not the one to do that!

A Goddess Temple full of statues of Goddesses. Maybe I could commission Oberon (or whatever he is calling himself these days) to make a giant version of his Millennial Gaia built into the side of a hill with a stone temple built around Her. With light slits so the sun shines on Her at sunrise and sunset on the summer solstice, and every day at noon. (Makes more sense to me then just once a year.) And heated slate floors (I love the heated slate floors at Annabel Taylor Hall) maybe with Geothermal Heat Pumps

I have some ideas for a God Temple too. At the top of a hill, something like the Hounen Matsuri Festival or the Kanamara Matsuri Festival Honoring the Iron Phallus (same thing with more pictures) Maybe that would use arbortecture (a living TreeHouse)

And Transgender Temple. For those in between :-)

The rest of the site would be camping, cabins, nature trails, maybe a Celtic Round House, an herb garden (It would have to be a raised bed garden if I was going to work on it.) With art and small gods abounding. One of those long roofed BBQ pits, and a pool, with a jacuzzi (like Starwood). I do love the water.

That would be a fun place to live!

Second Chance Community Center and Thrift Store

Another in my continuing series of "Great Ideas"

A community center where we offer classes in crafts, recycling donated material and selling the end products in the thrift store. Anyone can take classes at the community center to learn a craft or just volunteer their time to hang out and make crafts to sell in the store (or keep for themselves). The community center teaches skills and provides activities for people, young or old, who have no where else to be, or have handicaps that limit their functions. We could also provide free meals for anyone who shows up (depending on our resources). We should have a sewing machine and washer and drier for the fabric crafts so we could provide some emergency help for the homeless.

The thrift store would sell any donated items that were in good condition, but broken items and ripped or stained clothes could be used for quilting and other crafts. The thrift store is a place to sell the crafts that are made at the community center and the income could support the community center.

Goddess Temple. Another Good Idea I'm not going to do,

So, I have this idea for a Temple of the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names.

I'm thinking it would be a small octagonal stone building. With a heated slate floor. It would need to be slightly raised so the water heater and the pipes can be accessed in the basement, (I'm thinking a outside access to the basement). With a ramp up to the front door (handicapped accessible and ascetically cool!).

There would be round windows on six sides. The North side would just have a central alcove with a statue (maybe Millennial Gaia or something bigger, but some kind of Earth Goddess). And the South side would have the door, with half-round window on either side so it looked round. (or if all else fails one of these ) And the roof would have sky lights in each segment.

The lighting would light the walls that would have little shelves with statues of goddesses from all over the world. And some pedestals standing around with more statues of goddesses.

There would be a few wooden benches to sit on and some big cushions for sitting on the floor.
-------------------------------------------
Actually it should be part of a temple complex, and this building in particular should be one of three. The other two in the set should also be octagonal.

I'm thinking the Temple of the God should have two narrow windows on each wall to flank the statues of the gods. And two narrow strip windows on either side of the entrance door.

And a Temple to the One, The Biological Union of the Outward Duality, Ardhanarishvara, Asushunamir, all the hermaphrodeities. A temple to the union of masculine and feminine. It could have statues of hermaphrodeities, sea horses, butterflies, hyenas, lizards, snakes.

People could come in and mediate and burn candles for their particular deities. It is something that I don't see anywhere.

The rest of the temple complex would have big kitchens and ritual rooms. But a house just for the gods is something I can see a need for.

Fast'n'Healthy Restaurants

So, today I had another great idea that I'm never going to follow through on.

A fast food service for healthy food.
Fast'n'Healthy Restaurants
"We know you want to eat healthy but you don't have the time."

Basically it would take:
a nutritionist to approve the meals
a database program (such as the one CBORD makes) to track the menus
a site with lots of specialized food prep areas to avoid cross-contamination
a drive through window
delivery people (with scooters generally, but at least one ATV)

Basically all the meals would be designed for special diets: macrobiotic, vegan, low carb, elimination.

No white bread just whole grain.
Deserts made from Splenda
People could drive up and order from the menu,
Or call in orders for delivery.
Or sign up for a food service where they pay in advance and all their meals would be prepared and delivered without them having to do anything.

The advantage of the food service is that the client's food preferences could be entered in the database so the dietitian could custom design the menu around them.

The drive up menu would list the nutritional information right up front so people would know what to order to stay on the diet they want to stay on.

No sugary sodas, just diet sodas, soymilk, ricemilk, coffee, chai, tea, and herbal infusions. (you could choose between cream, soymilk, ricemilk, or dairy free creamer for your tea or coffee)

The deserts would all be sugar free. No sugar, just honey, molasses, and no-cal substitutes.

The meals would all have good helpings of veggies and precise measured servings of protein and fat. And each meal would be a percentage of the recomended daily caloric intake.
