This Year's Cookie Marathon!

I spent Friday and Saturday nights making cookie dough. Sunday I drove down to Binghamton and Spent the night making more dough.

Monday Song ordered Chinese food for dinner. But she also found some fresh smelt and fresh eel at the grocery store when she was out buying more flour and butter. She made fried smelt for herself and I had Chow Fun, Ribs, and Dumplings. Panda III makes the best dumplings.

While I was waiting for Song to get home from work I made Marzipan Pigs! I love marzipan, but I have never made marzipan pigs before.

We made Poppy Seed Rugelach. I have never made them before.

We made Springerle

We made Nutmeg Cookies. I had never made these before. The icing didn't turn out the way it should have. :(

We made Linzer Cookies. Another new one for me. The recipe only made 10 cookies. It might have made more if I had rolled them thinner. But this is more of a cookie for a fancy tea party than a large batch cookie like the others. I have to make a Lizer Torte someday and see how it compares.

We made Gingerbread. I made 2 Gingerbread houses! See them there?
Song made her Gingerbears with cinnamon hearts.

We made Speculoos. I have never done this one before either.

We made Cocoa Crinkle Cookies. I put extra four in the dough because it looked too thin to roll into balls. So they didn't spread as much ash they should have. And they turned out more cakey than chewy. But they are still delicious. And they look beautiful.

We made Russian Teacakes. Song doesn't like walnuts do I used hazelnuts instead. Her family made them with a single whole hazelnut in each one. But I prefer chopped nuts throughout.

We rolled out the dough for the Pfeffernüsse. But we ran out of energy before we got around to baking them

By the time the sun came up we were sore and exhausted. Song sent the kids off to school and we both went to sleep. When she got home I made some teriyaki sauce and we had broiled eel for dinner. Ona Stick!
Roast Eel

We never even touched the Buttermilk Sugar Cookie Dough. That will have to wait for next week.

Song wearing the hat I crocheted and cuddling on the couch with Jazz Cat.
