A Day on the Lake (swimming from my dad's boat with Chris, Sarah & Seth)

Today I went sailing with my dad.

Sarah, Chris, and Seth came with us. It was a first sailing trip for all of them. The wind was not very good, at one point we were becalmed and went swimming (well, dad took a nap while the rest of us went swimming.) The air was hot but the water was cold.

I have never gone swimming off the boat before I was a bit worried about how I was going to get back in even with the ladder. What finally got me into the water was something I said recently to gordon92151. There are a lot of things I didn't do when I was a teenager because I afraid I would regret them later. Well, it's later now. I turn 40 next year. It's time to start wearing purple and a red hat that doesn't go and complimenting the pretty girls and sitting down on the pavement when I'm tired. And not, when I come to die, discover that I had not lived.

My concerns about getting back into the boat were somewhat justified as I did have trouble climbing the ladder, but Seth gave me a hand. Seth really looks out for me and I appreciate it. Seth was a real help on the boat. I think Dad would like to have him back. Sarah seemed to enjoy herself at the helm. Chris was quiet as usual.

Afterward we all went home and took naps. Then Sarah, Chris, and Seth went swimming up at second dam while I made White Lasagna with broccoli and cheddar cheese.
