We told you so

The thing I am beginning to realize is that when the Conservatives say that Liberals are wrong to think that the government can solve problems that is because Conservatives don't use the government to solve problems they just use it to line each other's pockets. But Liberals really do believe the government can solve problems because when we are running the government that is what we use it to do. I really believe that if Democrats had been elected FEMA would actually be doing it's job. But since Republicans were elected they have been looting the public resources to stuff their own pockets and leaving the American people with no public services. A Republican government is no better than a third world cesspool of corruption and cronyism.

We told you so Saturday, Steve Gilliard September 03, 2005
"Instead of hearing what we had to say about Bush, you called John Kerry a coward, mocked Max Cleland, blamed everything but herpes on Bill Clinton. You enabled Bush into this mess and now you're shocked?"

"Bush, the man your fever dreams built into the next Winston Churchill when he is really the live action Chauncey Gardiner, has failed to everyone, in plain sight, without question. Rick Perry is trying to save his ass, but it ain't working. NOLA looks like ANGOLA and that ain't flying."

"George Bush's ineptitude has killed far more Americans than Osama could have dreamed of.

Some of you still try to see the clothes on the Dauphin, but he's as naked as Peter North around Jenna Jameson. Bush fucked up so bad, FOX turned on him like a rabid dog.

You can't hide behind racism forever. Bush fucked up, Bush is a weak, callous leader and the world knows this like it knows few other things. And all the stolen TV's in the world cannot hide that."

It's Time
"This event is emblematic of Republican governance. It encompasses every fuck-up they've perpetrated since they took over the entire national governament --- failure to plan, embracing only the best case scenario, lagging response, ignoring the experts, slashing funds and endless, endless happy talk that we can SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES is bullshit. (They are already saying that nobody is reporting all the "good news.")

The fact that most of these refugees (a word that I can hardly believe I'm typing) are black and poor residents who were unable to leave and were therefore, left to die, is emblematic also.

No, this is all about politics. It is about a GOP era of massive tax breaks for very rich Americans, billion dollar a week elective wars that we are losing while more and more people fall into poverty and the infrastructure of this country crumbles around our ears.

This failed experiment in free-market magical thinking can be summed up entirely by pictures of dead elderly Americans on the streets of New Orleans. "

Halliburton hired for storm cleanup

Whats really scary....

The asshat is in office until Jan. 2008. I mean, 2005 is not even close to being over and look what a mess the country is in?
"Magical thinking." That sums it up. If they refuse to accept reality, they seem to think it'll go away. This time it's not.

I'm only sad that it took devastation of this magnitude to get people to pay real attention to Bush's incompetence and blithe heartlessness.
