I hab a code ib by dose.

Has it really been nearly a week since I last posted?
Sorry, I have been busy.
bloodsong1's baby shower on Saturday was fun. It was a Tea Party theme so we had homemade cucumber sandwiches and scones. rbdarkly came up for it. We got to show each other our tattoos and do the henna thing. I have pictures!

Afterward we out for Chinese Buffet.

On Sunday I rested.

Monday Best Neighbor Ever™ took me out for another Chinese Buffet (which was also excellent) And I finally did my taxes. I'm glad they finally got online because I am always waiting till the last minute to do my taxes even though I always get a refund.

Monday was the day of the Big Storm™. I should have taken pictures. It looked like a snow globe out here. At 8:30am I had trouble getting out of the driveway because it hadn't been plowed, but when I got back at 6pm the drive had been plowed but had the same amount of snow in it. At the same time the roads downtown (at the bottom of the hill) were clear.

Tuesday I went swimming and made dinner for kenshardik and soulspirals.

I made my new recipe for Fried Rice:

2 cups Brown Basmati Rice
oil (olive, peanut, or sesame)
1 onion
1 cup sliced celery
1 pkg sliced baby bella mushrooms
2 small zucchini quartered and sliced
1 cup left over broccoli
2Tbsp black sesame seeds, toasted
3 scrambled eggs
1tsp chilli & garlic paste
salt & pepper to taste
Soy sauce
.5 c broken cashews (optional)
other ideas: snow peas, baby corn, chinese vegetable, cabbage, bok choy

Start cooking the rice.
Start sauteing the onion. Saute all the vegetables, one vegetable at a time and set them aside.
After you scramble the eggs return all the cooked vegetables to the pan and mix in the cooked rice.
Season to taste.

Tonight I made my Chicken Fricassee with boiled potatoes

4 frozen Chicken thighs
1 cup celery, sliced
.5 cup dried onion flakes (i'm out of onions again)
2 carrots, sliced
1 pkg sliced baby bella mushrooms
1 can diced tomatoes (plus 1 can of water)
1 bay leaf
salt & pepper to taste

I just put it all in my big old cast iron kettle and let it simmer until it was done.

serve with:
4 red potatoes peeled and quartered boiled in lightly salted water until fork tender.

It tasted great!

But I think I'm coming down with something, my nose is running, my throat feels weird, and I feel like I have slight fever. I'm going to get some sleep and try to stay hydrated.

Soooo, you HAVE baby shower pictures, but you haven't POSTED baby shower pictures. Sure, deprive those of us who couldn't go of even the slightest consolation....

Baby Shower Pictures

Sure I have. But I posted them to a less public forum i.e. the Friends of Barb list Photo section. Since you are on the FoB list you should be able to hop over there and see them.
