In the begining

Weird Week

I feel like I haven't accomplished anything this week.

That isn't true, of course. Just today I dropped off my rent check, picked up my new glasses, and did some shopping for non-food items.

This week I have also read "Hunter of Worlds" by C. J. Cherryh, written a brief review of it for LT. Cataloged some of my more difficult books, organized my Fiction Main Shelves (all the cataloged fiction that are not mass market paperbacks). I also ordered some new bookcases. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea, if I'm going to move. But I can't live like this. I need someplace to put the books.

The new shelves should arrive tomorrow. Once they are up that should help with cataloging.

I hope someone with a cat moves in. Kip needs a friend.

Ember is still a bit vocal and demanding... but then she goes about her important cat business for a while. She's been sleeping next to me for at least part of the night.

Glad you're shoring up against bookslides.

Ember and I had a routine where she would come to bed with me and curl up by head so I could pet her as I was falling asleep. Then she would come and go during the night.

She is a very smart girl and could figure out where to be so I get situated and roll over on her or knock her off the bed.

Now that you are gone, Kip sleeps with me. He prefers to sleep down by my thigh (which is more dangerous for him if I move). But I'm trying to teach him to sleep up by my head.

He is very vocal and demanding.
