"88 Minutes" (2007)

Al Pacino plays Dr. Jack Gramm a forensic psychologist who is given 88 minutes to live by a mysterious phone caller. It probably has something to do with the serial killer Jon Forster (Neal McDonough) who is about to be executed.

You would think that a ticking clock like that would help with the suspense. But Dr. Gramm is a very unsympathetic character and the plot makes no sense. They writers seem to think that if Jack keeps running it will keep us distracted and we won't notice the holes in the plot. There were several red-herrings that lead nowhere. It would have been more interesting if there had been some substance to them.

How did Al Pacino end up in this dud?
