A Nice Birthday

Mom and dad came up and we had dinner at the Saigon Kitchen. It was nice. They have been to the city of Saigon and had a nice chat with the woman who runs the restaurant. When I told her that it was my birthday she arranged for me to get some sesame balls with a candle. That was sweet. I didn't expect anything. It is really nice to get an unexpected gift. I am feeling very blessed.

When mom came back from Venice she gave me a couple of silk scarves so I could make a shirt out of them. I finally got around to making the shirt today and I wore it to dinner. The shirt is pretty but the fabric is very delicate. It snags on everything. So I probably won't be wearing it often. But I'm wearing it now. It is very soft and comfortable.

My cousin Christina sent me an Amazon Gift card so I went on a spending spree and got five books off my wishlist.
"Talking Pictures: Images and Messages Rescued from the Past" by Ransom Riggs
"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs
"The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry" by Jon Ronson
"The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Vol. 2" by Edward Gibbon
"House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski

I think that should keep me amused for a while.

Happy belated birthday!

Thank you

And you aren't even late. It's still my birthday for three and a half more hours. :)
I LOOOOVED Miss Peregrin's Home for Peculiar Children. I will have to try the other one.
It has not arrived yet. Maybe I can loan it to you when we have lunch.
