Blurred Lines (Music)

With all the controversy about Robin Thicke's "song of the summer" I was in a bit of a quandary. The song is catchy, but it is also a bit rapey. Luckily for me, Mod Carousel, a Seattle-based boylesque troupe, put out a gender switched version which doesn't squick me. So I can listen to the catchy tune with out encouraging rape culture. They have it for free on their web site. They recreated Thicke's video with Caela Bailey, Sydni Deveraux, and Dalisha Phillips on vocals, playing the roles of Thicke, Pharrell, and T.I.. Carousel's Trojan Original, Paris Original, and the Luminous Pariah play the roles of the mostly naked models.

Bart Baker's parody has a more direct commentary, making explicit what was merely suggested in the original video.
