It's been a long day but that is my fault. I got up at 7am to drive down to Endwell to buy some crownuts at Daylight Donuts. Daylight Donuts is the only place I know of around here that sells a croissant-doughnut hybrid. I also picked up some maple glazed donuts with bacon crumbles.

Then I went grocery shopping at Wegmans. Early Monday morning is a good time to shop. There was hardly anyone there.

Now that that is done I don't have to leave the house for the rest of the week.

I don't know what dad has been eating for lunch. There is plenty of food in the fridge and he can feed himself. He makes himself hot cereal for breakfast and we have been eating the fresh pineapple I bought. Today I think he had a peanut butter sandwich. Maybe if I label the left over navy bean soup he will eat that for lunch.

For dinner I braised the Beef Pizzaiola I had purchased in some red sauce and serve it with a nice salad and some ziti.

The table is cleared the counters are clean and the dishes are washed!

In my parent's house every meal is eaten at the dinning room table and all dishes are dealt with immediately. Nothing is left in the sink until the next day. I did let things slide last night but tonight I had things under control and got all the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and washed right after dinner. I'll put away the clean dishes in the morning and start the process again. Dad has been helping me with setting and clearing the table.

My hips and knees are still bothering me. I think the dinning room chairs are very bad for me. But the chair Pat lent me for the kitchen is working out well.

I've been making sure dad takes his pills and I have been changing his patch.
So far so good.

It's very kind of you to take such good care of your dad.
Well, he's my dad. I do what I can for him. Luckily for me he has a pleasant temperament and a good sense of humor. Some people get quite cranky when they start loosing their memory. But dad is still very cheerful. I would do more for him if I was physically more capable.

My parents are good people and they have always done their best for me. I owe them no less.
My father was never a nice person and at the end was a miserable shit, who threatened to kick me out of the house at the end of his life. Be glad you have a great father.

How do you NOT have soaking pans? I have to soak my fry pan when I do burgers and sausages, and occasionally have to soak the baking pans when I make something messy in them.
I am very lucky to have such nice parents.

I did have one pan soaking for a while but I took care of it.

I haven't been baking or frying so I don't have that kind of hard sticking cooking residue. The one pan I soaked had pasta and tomato sauce. I try to segregate the pasta sauce because it tints plastic orange.
For most of my baking I line the pans with parchment paper or tinfoil it really saves on the clean up.
